Job Title: Engineering Assistant/Super-Technician
Job Description:
An ARC Engineering Assistant/Super Technician plays a vital role in the Electrical Engineering department supporting staff with design, documentation, logistics, prototyping, build, test, and troubleshooting. Candidates with a strong work ethic and self-motivation are more important than previous experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Work closely with the engineering department on integration and prototyping of Circuit Cards, Fixtures, Test Stations and/or Automatic Test Equipment.
• Documentation development: schematic, parts list, requirements specifications, acceptance test procedure, and work instructions.
• Test and repair of electronic, or electro-mechanical products or assemblies.
• Design research: electrical/mechanical part selection, specification review and compilation.
Job Requirements:
• An ability to interpret manufacturer's datasheets, and/or create electrical schematics, block/layout diagrams, and work instructions.
• Excellent working knowledge of basic electronics, DMM, Oscilloscope and Function Generators.
• RF experience is a plus.
• Great lab and proven bench skills.
• Solid computer skills
• Schematic capture, or AutoCAD experience is also a plus.
The preferred candidate will possess:
• BSEE
• 5 years in design of functional test systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of PXI, LXI and GPIB instrumentation
• 10% to 15% travel required.
Education Requirements:
• Non-degree with three (3) years minimum of hands-on Engineering experience.
OR
• An Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology, or related field, plus 0-2 years of hands-on experience.
