Wednesday, September 17th, 2008 Nashua, NH – ARC was awarded multiple contracts by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as part of the Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) for the Airport Surveillance Radar Model 9 (ASR-9) system. Under these contracts, with a total value of over $750,000, ARC will update circuit card assemblies and modules used within the Transmitter porting of the system. The ASR-9 system was designed and fielded in the 1980’s and are fast approaching the end of their useful service life. The National Airspace System (NAS) relies on the continuation of these radar systems at over 135 airports throughout the United States. The SLEP will enable these systems to remain operational through the next decade, up to the year 2025. “We are pleased to be supporting the FAA on these efforts,” said Ken Collins, President of ARC. “This effort leverages ARC’s expertise in updating and designing replacement items for many outdated and obsolete components within the FAA and NAS.” Headquartered in Nashua, NH, ARC Technology Solutions is one of the nation’s leading providers of system sustainment and functional test solutions.
